Chair

Mr. Michel Sanschagrin is the Chair of the Panel of Experts. He also served as Chair in 2005 and 2006 for the first public consultation. He is an actuary and a company director who sat on the Board of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and was involved in various committees of the Institute where his technical expertise and knowledge of professional conduct were put to good use. Mr. Sanschagrin served as Vice President and General Manager of Administration and Chief Actuary of Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services, until his retirement in 2004.

Ms. Louise Dagnault is a chartered accountant by training. She has been a partner at the Mallette firm in Québec since 2003. She is also a member of the firm’s committees in charge of professional quality and training. During her career, Ms. Dagnault conducted the audit of several public and private companies in the insurance and pension sectors as well as in natural resources and manufacturing. She also served in task forces on various areas of interest, such as the administration of supplemental pension plans and enforcement of the Pay Equity Act. She was a member of the Panel of Experts in 2005 and 2006 for the first public consultation.

Mr. Henri Renault is an associate lawyer with Stein Monast. Since 1973, he has practiced mainly in insurance and civil liability law. He was also accredited as a mediator in civil and commercial matters by the Québec Bar. Lastly, he is a member of the Institut d’assurance de dommages du Québec, the legal advisor of the Société des Experts en sinistre de Québec and President of the Cercle de l’assurance de Québec. Mr. Renault is a lawyer well-regarded by his peers, and he is listed on the Best Lawyers referral list.
